Les professeurs de Grenoble Ecole de Management se sont prononcés le 1er octobre 2016 : Mark Smith, professeur à GEM depuis 2007, a été élu nouveau doyen du corps professoral de l’Ecole de la CCI Grenoble pour quatre ans. Il succède à Jean-Philippe Rennard, doyen depuis 2009.

Son projet en bref

  • Renforcer et développer le corps professoral de GEM pour devenir une référence dans les domaines de la recherche de haute qualité et des innovations pédagogiques.
  • Renforcer encore l'internationalisation du corps professoral et veiller à ce que l'école reste un endroit où il fait bon d'exercer le métier d'enseignant-chercheur.

« Les professeurs de GEM ont déjà réalisé des performances remarquables. Ils sont et seront la clé des succès futurs de GEM » déclare Mark Smith. Il est à ce jour le seul doyen étranger d'une grande école de commerce du top 6 France.

Biographie

Mark Smith est professeur en des ressources humaines et doyen du corps professoral à Grenoble Ecole de Management. Il dirige également l'équipe de recherche « Work Life Careers » de GEM.

Mark Smith a enseigné à Manchester School of Management (1993-2000) et Manchester Business School au Royaume-Uni (2000-2006) avant son arrivée à GEM en 2007. Il a été successivement responsable du département « Hommes, Organisations et Société », directeur adjoint puis directeur de la Doctoral School de GEM entre 2013 et 2016 (une des plus importantes Doctoral School en sciences de gestion en Europe avec plus de 300 étudiants sur sept sites à travers le monde).

Parmi ses thématiques de recherche privilégiées : égalité des sexes, politique du marché du travail, conditions de travail, temps de travail et équilibre travail / vie privée. A ce titre, il a notamment été membre de l'équipe de coordination du réseau européen d'experts sur l'égalité des sexes emploi (ENEGE) et membre du groupe d'experts de la Commission Européenne sur le genre et l'emploi (2008-2011). Il collabore actuellement au projet européen FP-7 sur l'impact de la crise sur les jeunes femmes et l'emploi des hommes et des carrières.

Il est également membre de l'équipe sélectionnée pour travailler sur l'analyse scientifique et les conseils sur l'égalité dans l'UE 2016 (SAAGE) pour la DG-JUST de la Commission européenne. Il est l'auteur ou co-auteur de plus de cinquante livres, chapitres de livres et articles de journaux.
