Published on
05 January 2016

Forty years after the implementation of the first equal pay legislation, the pay gap remains a key aspect of the inequalities women face on the labour market. Progress towards closing the gender pay gap will not be easy or quick. A collective effort of various actors will be required.

Concurrently with his article Equal Pay as a Moving Target : International perspectives on forty-years of addressing the gender pay gap, Mark Smith, Director of the Doctoral School, professor and member of the Work Life Career Research team, made a video to illustrate his research and to talk about the gender pay gap.
