The Process Communication Model ® (PCM) is reputed as a powerful tool for analyzing and understanding professional interactions. Developed for NASA space missions in the 1970s and 1980s, an optimized version of the PCM is now available to professional coaches. Grenoble Ecole de Management invites certified or accredited coaches to take advantage of it.

Coaching means connecting.  It is an alliance between the coach and their client in a process that sparks reflection and creativity to maximize one's personal and professional potential. Coaching is part of an ongoing relationship for a defined period of time, which allows concrete and measurable results to be obtained. This format, which helps objectives to be fulfilled, invites the person being coached to refocus on their priorities and choices. "As such, the coach carries a great deal of responsibility. It is therefore necessary both to be trained in tools, such as the PCM, and acquire specific skills for individual and team coaching," emphasizes Pierre-Yves Sanséau, Professor of Human Resources Management at GEM and professional coach.

Connecting to the Best in Everyone

The PCM was created by Taibi Kahler, an internationally-renowned clinical psychologist. He discovered that behavior under stress can be predicted and avoided. In collaboration with NASA, he developed and completed a model with a personality inventory, which became the Process Communication Model. Since then, this model has been used by some of the largest companies, such as NASA, L'Oréal, Pixar, and BMW; as well as in various fields such as: leadership, education, coaching, health and others. Thanks to a network of more than 4,000 certified trainers and coaches, PCM is used in 54 countries and has been translated into 24 languages.

The Process Communication Model allows you to understand your own performance as a coach. What are your areas of efficacy and weakness, depending on your personality? The PCM allows you to acknowledge your own performance, and especially those of your interlocutors. This analysis grid makes it possible to adapt to the personality of the person you are coaching and their frame of reference, and to break up interpersonal growth that could have spontaneously gone downhill.

An Adaptive Communication Science

The PCM certified coach works with a unique tool that transforms their clients' understanding into positive actions and interactions in their daily lives.
In fact, this science of adaptive communication is a "coaching accelerator." Once the profile of the person being coached has been identified, we can identify guidelines that will guide their interlocutor toward areas of improvement, in order to strengthen the quality of their connections.

Belonging to the international community of PCM Professionals means benefiting from special resources to support and enhance the effectiveness of your coaching methodology.
