This dissertation empirically explores and theorizes strategic experimentation in firms, its outcomes and unintended consequences. It provides a characterization of strategic experimentation, the roles and forms of experiments, and a new conceptualization of what a strategic experimentation is, what it does and what are its outcomes. It contributes to the literature in entrepreneurship, strategy and innovation, as it expands the knowledge about experimental processes.
