Malak is a PhD student in Marketing, focusing in Consumer Behavior. After earning a Master in Market Research & Consumer Behavior at IE Business School in Madrid, Spain, Malak worked at Ipsos UAE as a Marketing Senior Research Analyst for FMCGs such as Beiersdorf, Mars, P&G, and Unilever.

Malak's research concerns the mechanisms underlying consumer decision-making and choice. Her research addresses questions such as "how to faciliate the adoption of robots in service settings?" "how do consumers engage in complex decision making?", "how can consumers' purchases alleviate the fact that they are mortal?", and "when does the effect of sanitary messages backfire?".
