My research focuses on the micro-career experiences of underprivileged and marginalized workers, specifically women and minorities. Using various qualitative methods, I explore themes of underemployment, wage insecurity, and wellbeing and connect these worker experiences to broader discussions about the discursive politics that shape the economic realities of their non-standard employment often within 'cool', contemporary sites of work. I have published in the Journal of Business Ethics, Human Relations, Organization, and Organizational Research Methods. I specialize in teaching qualitative research methodology, human resource management, and organizational studies at all levels. Currently, I also serve as an Associate Editor for Group & Organization Management as well as Qualitative Research in Organizations and Management, and sit on the editorial boards of Organization and New Work, Technology and Employment. In my spare time, I am equally committed to perfecting my vegan banana bread recipe and binge watching legal dramas on Netflix.
